The Cyberpunk Trading Card Game is made by Weird Co. under license from CD Projekt Red, and no trading card game has ever raised more money on Kickstarter. When is the Cyberpunk TCG prerelease?
Participating stores held the first prerelease events on the weekend of October 30 to November 1, 2026, according to the Weird Co. event calendar. Prereleases use the retail edition: every player gets a kit with 6 booster packs, 3 Legends, a promo card and dice, builds a deck on site and plays several rounds, as ICv2 reported on October 14. It is a good way to try the game.
What is in the retail edition?
From November 6 the retail edition of Welcome to Night City is on store shelves. A booster display holds 24 packs with 12 cards each. Collectors will look for the 31 Iconic Rares with alternate art exclusive to this edition; the Beta edition from the Kickstarter campaign had different ones.
Two ready-to-play starter decks are the easiest way in, at a US MSRP of 29.99 dollars each (ICv2, March 5, 2026). To try the game first, print one of the two demo decks from the official Cyberpunk TCG site: Embracing Power with the Arasaka corporation or The Heist with the mercs of Night City.
How do you win at Cyberpunk TCG?
It is a two-player game. Each player brings a crew of three Legends and a deck, sells cards from hand for eddies, the in-game currency, and takes on gigs that sit on the table as dice. Whoever holds 6 gig dice at the start of their turn wins. A game takes 30 to 45 minutes, according to The Outerhaven's review of the Alpha edition.
After launch: Brawls, Showdowns and Warsaw
From November 6, stores run weekly Night City Brawls, the first rung of organized play with exclusive promo cards, says Weird Co. The Night City Showdowns, constructed and best of three, run from November 13 to December 6. The first regional event in Europe is the Edgerunner Open Regional in Warsaw on January 30 and 31, 2027, after Chicago in December. Find participating stores with the official store locator.
Edgerunners: Burn Bright, the second set
On October 20, Weird Co. announced the second set, Edgerunners: Burn Bright. It brings characters from the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners into the game, made together with CD Projekt Red and animation studio Trigger, along with new mechanics and a new chase rarity. Weird Co. names spring 2027 as the release window, with prerelease events one week before launch, according to the announcement. Burn Bright launches in English and French first, with Chinese to follow (ICv2).
The record Kickstarter
The campaign launched on March 17, 2026 and hit its 100,000 dollar goal within minutes. When it closed on April 17 it stood at 26,953,978 dollars from 47,676 backers (Outlook Respawn). In total the campaign raised more than 28.3 million dollars from over 50,000 backers, as of October 20, 2026 according to GosuGamers. Backers received the Beta edition, marked with a Beta symbol and with exclusive art variants, before launch (Weird Co. FAQ); the retail edition brings the game to stores.
