The most expensive One Piece card is a trophy: the gold-stamped Monkey D. Luffy awarded to the winner of the first Chinese One Piece Card Game World Championship in 2024. Goldin sold it in August 2026 for $713,700, the highest public sale of any One Piece card so far. All four verified sales above $100,000 show Luffy, and three of them never came out of a booster pack.

No. 1: the Luffy World Championship trophy

The record card exists exactly once. It went to the winner of the first Chinese World Championship in 2024 as a gold-stamped trophy and came to Goldin in its display. It sold in the Summer TCG Elite Auction, closing after extended bidding on August 10, 2026, at $713,700, as ICv2 reports. Goldin called it the highest public sale of any One Piece card. The card is not graded: for a one-of-one, provenance does the work a grade would do.

No. 2 and 3: prize cards from Korea and the World Finals

Second place is another Luffy, the starter card ST01-001 as the top prize of Korean tournaments in 2024, numbered to 77. Goldin sold copy 001 on May 17, 2026, for $440,420, Sports Illustrated reports.

Third place has a story of its own. The English gold Luffy OP05-119 was meant for the 2023 Championship world champion, but the winner received the Japanese version. The English card was never handed out, later earned a CGC Pristine 10, the top grade, and sold on Alt on December 4, 2025, for $315,600, as CGC announced.

No. 4: the most expensive One Piece card from a booster pack

The only card of the four that anyone could pull from a pack is Luffy OP13-118 in its “Red Manga” version, a rare alternate art in manga style. A copy in BGS 10 Black Label, the Beckett grade with all four subgrades at 10, sold on eBay on July 12, 2026, for $165,100, according to Sports Illustrated. Here the buyer pays for perfect condition, not for scarcity of the card itself.

How a record price comes together

A record price is rarely a single bid. Major auction houses add a buyer's premium on top of the hammer price. Every price in this article includes it, as the houses report them. Many auctions end with extended bidding: a late bid adds time until nobody raises again. And some records happen without an auction at all, in a private sale. Then it matters who confirms the price: a grading company that graded the card itself, or buyer and seller together. A figure named by only one side is a report, not yet proof.

Check an expensive card before you buy

The higher the price, the more proof matters. Every slab from PSA, Beckett and CGC carries a certification number you can look up in the grader's database, and the PSA app reads the label with your phone camera. If card, grade and number match the record, the slab is what it claims to be. For raw cards, a loupe, raking light and a trained eye on print pattern and edges do the work, and our card database shows how every English Pokémon card should look, with its number, rarity and illustrator.

What makes a One Piece card expensive

  1. Print run. The top three are tournament prizes with tiny print runs. The smaller the run, the less the grade matters.
  2. Character. Luffy is the series' lead, and every record shows him. So far, verified six-figure sales exist only for Luffy.
  3. Grade. For pack cards, condition decides. CGC Pristine 10 and BGS Black Label are the strictest grades of the two graders.
  4. Provenance. A trophy with tournament history carries value no grade can replace.
  5. Language and market. The top three come from a Chinese championship, Korean tournaments and the English World Finals. Each language version of a card is its own product with its own buyers, so a record in one language says little about the same card in another.

New One Piece sets

Every new set brings new Manga Rares and alternate arts. The 18th main booster pack, OP-18 “The Dominance of God”, comes out on November 20, 2026, covered in our OP-18 release preview. More previews and record sales for every card game are in our magazine.
